The application and development of Project Management (PM) knowledge have had a history of almost two-third of a century; driven by global-wise specialists, a complete structure and operation experience has been established. By far, all the countries view PM knowledge as a profession of developing knowledge economy, and they request hosts, managers, important staff members, and many other participants of large-scaled projects to obtain Certified Project Management Specialist certification or related credentials in addition to professional PM training. Due to this fact, the associated organizations that advocate for project management are focusing on establishing a system for project management credentials.

　　Certified Project Professional Manager credential is a confirming and awarding process of PM qualification provided by National Project Management Association; the credential is established to promote standard professional ability of project professional managers and to ensure recognition for their professional reputation and moral from the society. The credential is a high quality evaluation system that evaluates Certified Project Professional Manager’s professional qualification with strict and careful attitude and with principles of fairness, justice, and openness. With the credential serving as a checking point, project professional managers’ professional reputation and value can be ensured.

　　Since the area of PM professional knowledge is still under development, in addition to the area being closely related to the social environment, operating management professionals must have an understand of constant learning and improving in order to ensure continuing development of Certified Project Professional Manager (CPPM) and Certified Project Management Specialist(CPMS) human resources, and to encourage the ones with the certification to learn and adapt to new environment constantly. Therefore, base on principles of life-long learning and professional development of CPPM and CPMS, the association sets expiration time for the Project Professional Manager credential and provides means for continuation of the credential.

　　The association currently provides PM Classified Credential and Training Program. The program is classified into three levels: advanced Certified Professional Project Manager, for the ones with project executing experience of three years and above; intermediate Certified Project Management Specialist, for the ones with project executing experience of one year and above; and beginner Project Management Assistant/Engineer, for the ones wish to participate in project related field with no experience.
